Events-Thunderbird Clubhouse’s annual golf tournament is September 21st. They are in need of teams and sponsors. A team of four is $500.

Needs-They will always accept donations of clothing and housing and cleaning supplies. They need employment opportunities for their hard working members.

Board-They have board positions available. They are looking for board members to help with resource development (fundraising) and developing their employment program.

Community Action Ministries (CAM), www.cam-inc.net

Events-CAM hosts free, local summer mission camps. The CAMps allow young people of any background to serve their community, fellowship, and worship God together. They have a few openings for their July 29-August 1 CAMp.

Board-They have board positions available. They are looking for board members to help with fundraising, grant writing, and those that have connections with others in the community to share their vision. Their board members are required to volunteer in the community with CAM.

Events-Among Friends Community Fun Fair is Saturday, September 26, 4pm-8pm at the CSBI grounds (1185 East Main Street).  This is a fun event for families and people with special needs & disabilities. Needs-They can always use supplies like Kool-Aid & lemonade drink mixes, paper products (plates, napkins, paper towels), Lysol wipes and cleaners, Lexmark 28 & 29 ink cartridges, and copy paper.

Board-They have board positions available. They need a CPA or financial person, business leader with business connections, and community leaders who know people in community service clubs and foundations and OU.  We need Board members who can connect us to new funding opportunities.

Events-Bethesda does not have any upcoming events; however, they are excited to share with the community the results of their summer camp program. This year they have experienced an increase in the number of children attending camp, better retention, and the addition of a third summer camp week specifically designed for girls 14-17 years old. They are excited to share these results that will be sent directly to Norman NEXT as a report of the use of funds provided.

Needs-Bethesda is always seeking for community members to join the Friends of Bethesda email list. Friends of Bethesda are individuals in the community that are willing to meet a need for the agency when an email is in their inbox. They always welcome cookies and Kool-Aid, two items they use regularly to help the children feel safe and comfortable during counseling sessions.

Board-They have board positions available. They are looking for individuals that are passionate about healing the trauma of sexual abuse. Skills that they are looking for are individuals willing to invite people in their circle of influence to join in donating and attending events, participate in monthly meetings, provide input to the overall vision of the organization and participate in one of their committees (Fundraising, Finance, Personnel, Board Development, Marketing and Executive Committees).

Events-Their annual unit training is coming up on July 24th. If anyone would like to provide giveaways to go in the bags of attendees, let them know. They also have a PTA membership discount program. In a nutshell, PTA members will get discounts at local businesses when they show their PTA membership card. It is free for businesses to participate in the PTA membership discount program, and the discount is decided upon by the business.

Needs-Anything they can pass on to their units! Reams of paper are always needed, gift cards for teacher appreciation, donations for art carts and cooking carts, etc. If you are interested in volunteering at school events, let us know, and we can connect you with individual schools.

Board-They don’t have board members, but they have business partners! Business partnerships have a cost of either $100 or $250. For the lower rate, the Council will share information about your program and other special events with our units and members through our Facebook page and via email. For the higher rate, they will offer the same additional advertising and you would be listed as a sponsor of a specific program where you would be able to address all in attendance and have your logo featured on all materials for that event.

Events- None at this time

Needs-They always need volunteers to deliver noontime meals Monday-Friday. If anyone is interested, please contact Deana at 405-321-7272 or by email at deana@mealsonwheelsnorman.com.  As far as supplies, they could always use Ensure Nutritional Drink.

Board-At this time they do not have any open board positions. If we were  looking for board members, we would want someone with knowledge of the elderly and medical issues.

Events-The Katie Moody golf tournament and silent auction is October 12 at John Conrad Golf Course.  They also have a Christmas Wine Pull and the date will be December 4 or 5.

Needs- They could use golf tournament volunteers for registration and setting up the silent auction.  They also need silent auction items and are looking for hole sponsors.

Board-They are looking for board members.  Their needs vary and include a social worker, anyone in the medical profession and has a liking to work with an organization that supports those that are home bound or on hospice.
