Residents invited to provide input about the community’s future growth
The City of Norman is hosting a PlanNorman Open House to gain input from residents during the new update to the Norman 2025 Plan. The workshop is May 11 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 201 W. Gray.
The comprehensive plan is both a physical plan and policy guide for Norman moving forward. It serves as a framework for future planning documents as well as the policy guide for city staff and decision makers. (Learn more about a Comprehensive Plan)
The workshop will be an open house format featuring poster boards with information about various growth scenarios for how and where Norman will grow over the next 20 years. The city’s consultant and City of Norman Planning and Community Development staff will be available to answers questions.
There will also be two presentations on Norman’s vision and goals for the comprehensive plan and the public will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the goals that will guide the long-term plan for the community. The first presentation will be at 4:30 p.m. and the second will be at 5:30 p.m. The seocnd presentation will be aired live on Norman Life TV, Cox Channel 20 ar AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.
The plan vision was developed based on input from the PlanNorman steering committee, stakeholder interviews, and the first community workshop.
